For those having problems with Mariokart64n’s method (Updated videos with commentary)

I though I make a video showing how I do it 😀 It’s a little different as it involves patching the model part first without editing it

    That’s because he plans on making another video, on how to use the morpher. I thin he’ll make it public once he will be done recording the other video.

    there’s a new version of dasdonkey box coming out, so it’ll be much easier to edit stuff soon.

    I’m aware of that but since plp are having problems with this method as of now I figured I post how I do it.

    DDB v 2.0 will most likely still work the same way just in a cleaner and more organized way like DAE creation and auto patching

    I think you should improve your Jockey hack using this vertex hacking method.

    the way mario kart did it wasnt working for me and the model was all messed up after I patched it.

    This method I developed ensures that the model wont get messed up during the patching process.

    Yeah, I couldn’t even tell what you were doing most of the time. Some audio or text-based accompaniment would make this much more effective.

    I’ve recently gone to college for summer, which, in a strange way, will actually increase my time to do texture hacks, as before i had a hectic senior year and a huge amount of work of scholarships and whatnot. now I’ll soon be able to work on this crap again, and produce sweet stuff with these easier model hackin stuff coming out.

    Nice tut fireking.

    And just noting that patching before editing only works when the whole polygon remains intact in the vertices. It doesn’t work for legs/arms because in the vertex sets those are typically merged into each other.

    True, I concur. I tried this method on pikachu and on the early patch, he still got corrupted, without editing. Hmm…

    This method doesn’t rlly work on arms and legs but works fine with still models like metas sword and mask like I did. Some models just dont really want to work like links main body

    i’ve been watching tutorials for verticing with blender ii edit things and then my char explodes in endless lines any one know whats not working?

    i think i missed something. i didnt know that it is possible to edit vertex by viewing the faces. can someobe link me to a tut and the programms ill need

    blender does not work what so ever. Use 3ds max 8


    here ya go, this is where it all started. The programs u need are at the bottom of the first post and of course 3ds max 8 or 9

    ok, thx for clearing most of that up. I was just saying what I thought everything did in my own words but I realize I was wrong on most occasions. It was a good attempt though. Oh well, I’ll try this way and hopefully I’ll get something.

    i don’t think it’s blender thats causing the explosions in my char,(although i will use 3ds max now becuase it seems like it wprks better) because i pulled vertices from one model and injected them into another one without editing it in blender and the same thing happened. i can’t figure out whats going on with it maybe it would help if i posted my steps? and thx for the tip fireking220
